— featuring 70 of South Africa’s most exciting cars

Cape Town, South Africa — The Cape 1000®, South Africa’s most beautiful drive, returns this March with a confirmed lineup of 70 incredible cars — and the public is invited to get up close to the action at the official Show & Shine.

From a 1969 Ferrari Dino, to the legendary Porsche 930 Turbo “Widow Maker”, to a rare gated-manual Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Roadster, this year’s field is a rolling museum of automotive passion — with plenty of modern theatre mixed in.

Free public highlight: Show & Shine (Cape Town)

The 2026 Cape 1000 kicks off with a free, open-to-the-public Show & Shine on:

  • Date: Sunday, 15 March 2026
  • Time: 14h00 – 16h00
  • Venue: Cape Town Hotel School, Mouille Point, Cape Town

Bring the family, bring your camera, and enjoy an unforgettable afternoon of world-class machinery in one place — before the cars head out on their 1,000-mile (1,600km) Western Cape adventure.

Where to watch the cars on route

After the Show & Shine, spectators can catch the Cape 1000 convoy at a series of suggested public viewing areas as the rally traverses the Cape Peninsula, scenic coastal stretches, Route 62 towns, mountain passes, and finishes in Cape Town’s iconic waterfront precinct.

Suggested viewing points (times approximate):

  • Tue 17 March: Montagu Meet & Greet • George (York Street)

(Please park legally, follow marshal instructions, and keep spectators—especially children—well clear of the road at all times.)

A rally with heart

The Cape 1000 is a precision regularity rally (not a race), combining breathtaking grand touring with driving challenges and a strong charitable focus — including a dedicated fundraising component during the event week.
