Updated: New Official Cape 1000 Poster Revealed

Cape Town, September 2023: As part of their partnership with The Cape 1000, The Archive Automotive proudly announces the commission of a one-of-a-kind, limited-edition event poster by Wayne Du Rand, an esteemed and versatile Cape Town Artist and Creative Director. Wayne Du Rand, known for his exceptional work in various artistic mediums, including illustration, graphic design, and traditional paintings, has created an iconic poster that captures the essence of The Cape 1000 event, which is hosted in partnership with Private Clients by Old Mutual Wealth.

The poster not only celebrates the partnership between The Archive and The Cape 1000, but also tells a compelling story about remarkable cars and the breathtaking landscapes of the Western Cape.

The Archive Automotive is a company driven by a love for cars and a dedication to delivering exceptional services to car enthusiasts. Based in Cape Town, the outfit offers a comprehensive range of services, including vehicle storage and maintenance, private sales, high-end detailing and customisations.

This collaboration marks the debut partnership between Wayne Du Rand and The Cape 1000, with both parties hopeful for future joint ventures.

Signed and numbered prints of the exclusive poster will be available for order exclusively to The Cape 1000 Participants, ahead of the highly anticipated 2024 event, which will run from 10 to 15 March. The number of prints will be limited, matching the count of registered participants. Additionally, the very first print, numbered 1/65, will be professionally framed and subsequently auctioned off, with all proceeds benefiting the Quad Para Association of South Africa.

Smaller reprints of the poster will be made available to the public. These prints can be purchased online starting October 2023 and will also be on sale at The Cape 1000 shop during the event. The price for these smaller reprints will be confirmed and communicated in due course.

Vanessa Crichton, Event Director for The Cape 1000, expressed her immense pride in the event and her delight at capturing the interest of a highly accomplished artist like Wayne Du Rand. She added that she eagerly looks forward to joining forces with The Archive and Wayne to deliver this exciting addition to the experience that will be created by the event in 2024.

The 2024 Cape 1000 event has already garnered significant interest, with all available slots sold out. Over 60 remarkable cars are set to participate in this four-day, five-night extravaganza, traversing the stunning landscapes of the Western Cape. The event promises a showcase of iconic vehicles, including the Bugatti Veyron 2008, Ferrari 250 GTO recreation, and a 1954 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing.
